Michael Embley

Mr Michael Embley has led some of the finest international schools world-wide.
He has worked with governments to improve education both in the national and private sectors on three continents.
Hailing originally from the UK he graduated first in his class from the University of Leeds.
After working in the medical research field for some years he moved to teaching at a Beckfoot Grammar school.
Following a move to international education which saw the family move to Taiwan he became Head of Secondary School at Taipei British School and then to The British School of Caracas in the same post.
He was Principal of Kongsberg International school, Norway which under his leadership achieved nationwide acclaim after coming top of the league tables in only its second year of operation. In Beijing his school, The British School of Beijing achieved academic results placing it in the top 4% of British Schools.
He would always state privately though that “family” is his key motivator. Being a father of 5 is the roots from which all school decisions are taken.
