Linda Rush

Vice President, TELLAL Institute of Teacher Learning and Leadership for all

Dr Linda Rush left the University of Manchester as Head of Teacher Education and Director of Professional Learning to assume a strategic lead on the professional learning and development of teachers and senior leaders at GEMS Education. As an extension to this role she was tasked with the establishment of an independent Institute for Teacher Learning and Leadership for All (TELLAL). Within the unique cosmopolitan, entrepreneurial environment of the UAE, TELLAL will act as a provider, hub, incubator and transcontinental host for teacher training. As a principal leader in a number of schools and universities, educational consultant and researcher, Linda has worked with a wide range of learners: teachers in schools; dentists; doctors; clinical consultants; lawyers; academics across all disciplines in four universities; and those working in school and university administration. Linda has a PhD and Masters from the University of Liverpool, UK. Her first degree is from Oxford. She is currently Honorary Professorial Fellow at the University of Manchester, UK. Since 2007 Linda has been engaged in research which reflects on partnership practices in the context of public and private educational organizations. Her research has led to presentation at international conferences and publications. Currently, she is interested in critiquing patterns of teacher education and training in more cosmopolitan, competitive and complex contexts with the intention of making the unconventional conventional.
