Principal, Riverston School Dubai

I have a BSc in Applied Chemistry, a PGCE, NPQH and PGC in SEND Coordination. I have 28 years of experience as a teacher, 7 years as a Deputy / Assistant Head and 4 years as Principal. My roles have been both in the UK and in international settings. As Head of Science in three schools I raised each department’s pass rate by 30% on average. In my years as Deputy / Assistant Head I took struggling departments and later a whole school to an Outstanding grade by Ofsted. As Head of Slindon College, my most recent assignment in a school that specialises in working with children with an SEND, I increased the 5A*-C grades (including English and Maths) by 800%. I also started up the primary section, working on the rapid optimisation of key areas such as phonics and reading skills from the ground up. During my time at Slindon College the school became ranked first in England by the DFE for Performance and Progress for A level or its equivalent. I am currently the Founding Principal of Riverston School Dubai.
