Alan Kavanagh

Co-founder, Startup Education Consultancy

After an international career in business with Proctor & Gamble and Unilever, Alan was recruited into a fast growing management consulting firm focused on business start-up and business transformation. He further honed his skills and knowledge in his own successful partnership consultancy before joining Capgemini’s Transformation Leadership practice in 2005. Alan then became Director of Consulting in Place Group Education Consultancy, working on delivery of the major capital programmes of Academies, Building Schools for the Future and Primary Capital.

In 2010, Alan fulfilled his ambition to open British curriculum schools overseas when he was appointed Bursar and Business Manager of Brighton College Abu Dhabi, which opened successfully in 2011 and followed this with a second Brighton College opening in Al Ain in 2013. Both schools have been graded A2 by the Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC), the highest grades awarded to any schools in the Emirate. He is currently working on a third school with another UK Independent School brand.

Alan is co-founder of StartUp Education Consultancy and lives in Abu Dhabi.
