Investing in Saudi Arabia’s Education Future

Shahram Hashemi Discusses Opportunities and Challenges.

Ahead of his highly-anticipated speaking engagement at IPSEF Global 2025 this coming June in London, Shahram Hashemi has been sharing his thoughts on the ongoing transformation of Saudi Arabia’s educational landscape, and his experiences in this challenging but ultimately rewarding market.

A Managing Partner of the prestigious Aldenham Education Group (AEG), Shahram has always been passionate about investing in the education sector – and has seen firsthand just how important it is to commit to quality schooling, especially when the impact of that education may not become apparent until years later. At Aldenham School Riyadh, which provides children from the ages of 3 to 13 with a highly-esteemed and holistic style of education, this idea of investing in the future could not be more apparent. The school is a stunning example of Shahram and the AEG’s hard work and experience in this industry.

With plans to expand alongside the Kingdom’s ambitious Vision 2030 program, which paints an exciting picture of the future for the Saudi education system, AEG intends to provide a robust education platform for all age groups. Aldenham School Riyadh is just one example of their success – but, with an enterprising 10 year plan in the works, it’s likely to be the first of many. This means more schools in multiple locations, including kindergartens, providing a higher level of education not just for expats, but for all of the Kingdom.

AEG has a strong working partnership with the government of Saudi Arabia, and are excited to be part of Vision 2030 and what it will mean for the country and its people. A country needs great schools in order to thrive, and in order to fulfill the potential of its people – but creating these learning environments isn’t easy. It’s a monumental task, and it’s understandable that so many find it an intimidating prospect to wade into.

“Saudi Arabia is a great market, with a lot of potential and an undeniably great future – but it’s a difficult market to operate and expand in when you start out,” Shahram explains. “Transformation is slow – it takes time, and an experienced hand at the helm. Aldenham Education Group has decades of experience – we have boots on the ground; tangible, local expertise. And we’re able to partner with and mentor people looking to seize the opportunities surrounding education in this country, in a way that very few can.”

As well as speaking at IPSEF Global 2025, Shahram is eager to lend his time and advice to others looking to learn more about and invest in this area, including the ways in which AEG are making waves for the future of Saudi Arabian education.
