A New Model for Primary Education
The education landscape has changed. Around the world, families are increasingly seeking amore rounded education for their children – one that reflects the pace, complexity and uncertainty of the world their children are growing up in.
Parents continue to value strong academic foundations, but increasingly recognise that success today depends on more than exam results alone. Life skills such as confidence, independence and adaptability matter more than ever, yet traditional school structures often leave limited opportunity to develop them.
While every child learns differently, most education systems still rely on rigid timetables and age‑based progression, rather than the flexibility and personalised choices young people need today. Lessons move at one pace regardless of individual progress, with little space to apply learning in real‑world ways, leaving some children frustrated academically, and others under‑prepared for life beyond the classroom.
It is this gap that has led us to create Inspired Edge Academy – a new primary education model designed for the realities of today’s world. Built from the ground up, we use AI-assisted learning tools to help children master their core curriculum up to three times faster, leaving more time for students to develop real-world skills through exciting interdisciplinaryprojects, like building a drone or running an Airbnb.
Launching in early access in London in January 2027, with a wider international rollout in seven countries planned later that year, our aim is to offer families meaningful choice in how their child learns from an early age, preparing them for the world they are growing into.
Designed to build on national curriculums, a typical day at Edge Academy reflects this balance. Mornings focus on mastering core subjects in small-group teaching such as English, maths, science, computing and languages, supported by adaptive learning platforms that respond in real time to how a child is performing.
Afternoons are dedicated to applying that knowledge through hands‑on, interdisciplinary projects that build real-world skills. Students might combine maths, design technology and entrepreneurship to develop a food business concept, or draw on history, geography and computing to design a Roman London experience. In doing so, they collaborate, problem‑solve and reflect, strengthening academic understanding alongside real‑world skills.
At its core, the model is built around mastery. Children progress once they have a deep, understanding of the local curriculum, rather than moving on according to a timetable. This removes artificial ceilings on progress, while ensuring pupils who need more time or support receive it early, before gaps widen.
At Edge, technology supports great teaching rather than replacing it. Educators remain at the heart of the model, using insights from these tools to guide teaching, run targeted workshops and build strong relationships with students. The experience is intentionally human, focused on developing capable, confident learners.
