Dean/Instructor, Phillips Academy Andover
A global educator, Raj has taught and held leadership positions in various schools in Switzerland, Kenya, India and the United States. Currently a Dean in the Dean of Students office, Raj creates and develops student leadership programming, organizes conferences and workshops around student well-being, and aligns programming with the school’s strategic plan.
Raj also leads the Niswarth program, an Andover Learning in the World program which brings together people and ideas from across the globe. Since 2004, the program has connected Andover students and teachers to communities in India. Raj has written about and presented the Niswarth framework at venues ranging from schools to global conferences.
Outside of Andover, in 2008 he founded Educators for Teaching India, a group that works with the South Asia Institute at Harvard University to bring together public and private school teachers from across America to discuss content and pedagogy approaches to teaching India in secondary schools.
Raj teaches biology, coaches football (American!), and lives on campus with his wife, Kavita, and two boys who currently attend Andover. Raj earned his M.A.T. from Brown University.
