Prof. Dr. Sopia Md Yassin
Director, National Child Development Research Centre (NCDRC)
Professor Dr.Sopia binti Md Yassin is a Professor at the Faculty of Science and Mathematics, Sultan Idris Education University, Malaysia (UPSI), and the current Director of the National Child Development Research Centre (NCDRC), at UPSI. She holds a Ph.D (Science Education) from the University of Queensland, Australia. Her research interets are on Science Education, Science in the Early Years, Problem-based Learning, ICT in Education, Higher Education and Early Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE). She has published extensively, both locally and internationally. Prof Sopia has contributed in consultancy and advisory work for the Malaysia government and academic agencies. She is currently leading two national levels projects involving in the development of the National Child Data Centre (NCDC) and Malaysian Quality ECCE Framework. Both projects aim to improve the quality of care and education in the early years. In addition, evidence gathered serves to inform the drafting of new acts and policies.
