Head of Education Strategy, International, Promethean
David is Head of Education Strategy for Promethean, working in the International Division that encompasses all but North America. He works with governments, corporations, funding organizations and NGO’s advising on and developing projects for the use of technology in the classroom. Recently he has been developing strategies for Promethean in the International community, to ensure technology is used effectively as a tool to drive educational transformation.
He has spoken at and taken workshops at many international conferences such as the Planet Earth Institute High Level Forum at the UN General Assembly, the ICTLT in Singapore, ULearn in New Zealand, several World Didac and BESA conferences, the International and Private School Education Forum and the UNESCO ICT in Education conference where he was awarded the honour of presenting the most innovative idea in educational technology.
For 2 ½ years, David also was responsible for the management of the South East Asia region for Promethean.
Currently David is working on developing initiatives around the effective use of renewable technologies in accelerating educational change in developing countries.
David graduated from Loughborough University, UK with an Honours degree in Sports Science and a Certificate of Education. He has taught in Further Education, Secondary and Primary schools, leaving a post as Deputy Head teacher in 2001.
He then took a post as Senior Educational Consultant with a UK based IT company and during this time was seconded for 2 years to the UK Ministry of Education, developing and implementing national computerised assessment tests.
David lives in the UK with his wife and young daughter and enjoys the outdoor life as much as possible. He has represented his country in 2 sports and coached a national team for 3 years.
