Brendan Law, 49, was educated at Grey High School, and the Universities of Port Elizabeth and Cape Town, South Africa. He is married to Linda, and they have a son (15) and daughter (12).He has specialisms in English and Psychology, holding a Bachelor of Arts, a postgraduate BA Honours in Psychology and a Higher Diploma of Education.Brendan taught at Grey in the early 90s before going via Sweden (Private Tutor to the President of SAAB’s children) to Bedford School, UK in 1995, where has was Senior Boarding Housemaster, as well as Acting Registrar; he taught English and was actively involved in much sport.
Brendan was appointed as Headmaster, Westbourne House School, Chichester, in 2003 and spent eight very happy years there: during his tenure as Head, the school grew by 33% and achieved record results.
During his time at Westbourne, he sat on the Cranleigh UK Board of Governors, serving both the Academic and the Preparatory School Committees. He was appointed as Founding Headmaster of Brighton College Abu Dhabi in April 2011 and led its successful opening.In July 2012, Brendan was appointed as Director of Education at TDIC: whilst he continues to oversee all educational development opportunities on Saadiyat, his primary task has been the establishment of Cranleigh Abu Dhabi, which is set to become the flagship school in the region.Brendan was appointed as Headmaster of Cranleigh Abu Dhabi in October 2013.Interests: golf, cycling and watersports.
