How DIT Education can help

Education is a crucial dimension in the UK’s relationship with China. During President Xi Jinping’s State Visit to the UK in 2015, the UK and China signed a Joint Statement which included a commitment to develop our relationship and links in education.

China ended the “one-child policy” in 2015. It is estimated that after the policy change, the number of newborn babies will increase to over 3 million each year.

UK independent schools enjoy a very good reputation in the China market for its rich heritage, renowned brands, focus on enquiry-based learning and rigorous quality control system.School investors in China generally prefer UK schools as partners to schools from other countries. The UK national school curriculum is the most popular international curriculum globally with over 40% of the market share, and half of the international/bilingual schools in China deliver A-level programmes to their students.

How can DIT Education help?

  • Identify and qualify the school establishment opportunities across China and present them to UK schools and education organisations
  • Organise, co-organise or join related events to promote the UK independent school sector and its attractiveness to potential project owners in China
  • Keep UK schools informed of market and policy updates in China
  • Lobby and build relationships with different levels of the Chinese government to facilitate specific projects

DIT education is pleased to support IPSEF Asia in Shanghai, we have teams based in London and different parts of China to support UK schools and education organisations to develop in China.
